Q: okay...so im obsessed with makeup (mainly shopping for it!) but im deffinatly not even close to being able to afford dior, chanel, lancome, etc....mainly because their makeup products are really expensive...but why? is it because they are really good? or is it just because of the designer names? do you think covergirl is just as good? which one would you get and why? http://www.covergirl.com/products/product.jsp?productId=queen_eyeshadow_quads http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P133907&categoryId=S10501&shouldPaginate=true
A: Designer makeups are usually all name. Even some drug store products are overpriced for their quality. Rommel makes really awesome eyeliners and are worth the price however their eyeshadow really sucks. Maybelline has really good mascara, way better than more expensive brands I've used. I don't like any cover girl products except their brow and eyemakers in soft brown for my eyebrows. Wet and wild lipstick is just as good as the more expensive lipsticks in my opinion, except for revlon colorstay matte ones. It's all about knowing which companies are the best at specific items. The only thing I don't use drug store brands for is my bare minerals foundation and blush and urban decay eyeshadow primer potion because they are the best on the market and well worth their price to me. This stupid iPod touch thing won't let my edit up at the top, I meant Rimmel not Rommel. I hate this predictive text. Anyway I also wanted to say that max factor and milani eyeshadow singles are also really good and available at drug stores.
