Q: ok well this might sound stupid but what is skin primer and is it bad for your skin? Please help me. i have sensitive skin :/
A: Primer is a product used before foundation and other makeup to "prep" the skin. Though different primers have different properties, they're usually associated with 1- making makeup last longer because they give something for it to adhere to, and 2- filling in lines and pores to foundation and other makeup will go on smoother. There are primers sold for all over the face, and also for eyes and lips. Some primers contain ingredients to go even further than prepping skin. Some contain light reflecting particles to give a glowy look. Some help reduce oil and shine. Smashbox even has color correcting primers to even out red or yellow skin tones. My favorite face primers are Bare Escentuals' Prime Time and Benefit's That Gal. My favorite eye primer is Urban Decay Primer potion. While primer in itself isn't bad for skin, keep in mind everyone's skin is different and different products can cause bad reactions in some people's skin that it may not in others. My advice would be seek out a dept store makeup counter or Sephora and try on different primers (on different days) to make sure you don't get a reaction before purchasing.
