Do you still have to go lighter with concealer

Q: ok, so i want to buy a concealer but im not going to where a foundation over it im gonna wear a tinted moisterizer instead so my qouestion is do i still have to make the concealer a shade lighter than my actual skin

A: No, you should always wear a concealer which is as close to your skin tone as possible. Some magazines say go lighter and some say go darker but it's rubbish because then it would be noticeable. Also concealer should go on top of foundation because that is exactly what it says, foundation. It is used to even out skin tone so if you put concealer on underneath, you may be concealing unnecassary blemishes and putting too much on. The only lighter concealer there should be is undereye concealer which is "light-reflecting". This is only a shade lighter because it balances out the dark shadow under the eyes. Hope I could help :)
