My Pale Skin? (weird question)?

Q: I'm Hispanic, and instead of dark skin like most Latinos have my skin is really pale... Here's an example of the color http://www.hot-screensaver.com/wp-myimages/jessica-alba-screensaver.jpg I used to go out a lot in the sun about 3 years ago, and because of that my arms (only my arms) got darker. Today I took a shower and used this body wash scrub, and when I came out of the shower I was looking at my skin and it got PALER. Is this weird? I mean is this supposed to happen with body scrubs? p.s : no it wasn't dirt. My arms got darker cos of the sun... haha weird question, but w/e :)) Thanks peeps =] great answers "westtexasgirl2004", that's not my picture obviously. I was just using that as an example...

A: When you tan, whether in a bed or outside in the sun, only the top layer[s] of the skin are actually 'tanned'. By using body scrubs or exfoliants you are litterally scrubbing off the upper layer of skin and dead skin cells. Thats why they make your skin feel softer after you use them. intead of using scrubs after the sun, use them before you tan for better results. i have extremely fair skin and always have trouble keeping tans. just keep your skin mousturized and refrain from scrubs or exfoliants. :]
