I've already tried: pure make up from maybeline Bare minerals from revlon and Covergirls foundation(comes in a purple compact) is there something i should apply over my foundation?
A: Seems like you have oily skin, just like me. No matter what kind of foundation I have tried, my face gets oily after a couple of hours. I never go out of the house without putting on face powder, it really justs holds the foundation on my skin, not to mention that your skin looks better with powder instead of just with foundation--it evens out the skin and it covers more imperfections than foundation alone, in my opinion. It is the finishing touch. Obviously, different foundations suit different skins and you just have to experiment with some to see which one 'settles' better on your skin- it could be a drugstore brand or something a little more expensive- but the bottom line is that if your skin is combination/oily, there is nothing you can do to magically make it go away. You have to live with it and work with it. I know blotting sheets work for some and I have tried them myself in the past but they are not the thing for me (i get put off by the result of the sheet covered with grease, sorry, i know it's gross) and so I do not use them but some women do not mind carrying them sheets in their bag and maybe you wouldn't mind either, all you have to do is try. Alternatively, you can just carry your powder with you to touch up on your face when it starts to get oily. One of the best products out there is Smashbox's Compact Anti-Shine, http://www.smashbox.com/COMPACT-ANTI-SHINE. You just touch up yor face with it just like you would with a face powder. I love its packaging, it is very elegant and unlike with powder, it will not spill all over your handbag. So if you think about it, with the right products and just a little time on your hands, touching up your 'disobedient' face is less hassle than it seems. A minor inconvenience if you ask me considering the polls that show that oily/combination skins stay younger because of this very oil (medical term: sebum) excretion. Oh, and it will get better as you get older, your skin just doesn't produce that much sebum anymore.
