A: I love makeup, I'm not black but I have a middle-eastern/greek background, so i know all about oily skin and frizzy out of control hair. lol. As far as face makeup goes, I use maybelline pure minerals liquid foundation on areas that need lots of improvement. then i cover my whole face with loreal truematch powder. i usually stay shine free throughout the day, but if i do see a little shine i just touch up with the powder, it works great! also, the blotter sheets by clean&clear are awesome for soaking up excess oil without removing makeup. as far as colors go for eyeshadows/liners, my best friend (whos black) wears a deep purple shadow, with gold liner on the bottom and it looks great. purples, golds, and even deep orangey-reds look great on her. and as far as the brands go, one of my other good friends swears by mac makeup. it really is good though, you definetely get your moneys worth. it lasts all day and the colors don't fade, so its so worth it. covergirl is alright, personally i don't like it because i find that the colors fade, and my skin looks oily when i use their products. almays eyeliner is great, along with their mascara but their face makeup just doesnt cut it loreal paris's H.I.P. collection is awesome, and i love their true match powders. my friend uses black radiance, she's not too crazy about it but she says it does the job max factor, same problem as covergirl, as least for me. the colors just don't come out as strong. revlon has good lip products, but i'm not a fan of their face makeups/ eye shadows maybelline's alright, same problem as covergirl neutrogena definetely goes for the "natural" look. if that's for you, their products are great. they're actually healthy for your skin and don't clog poors wet n wild is just cheap, i wouldn't go with it. their lip products are alright though. i've never tried la colors, sorry olay has really good skin products, my mom swears by their products i've heard from friends that mary kate and ashley is cheap... and the kind of makeup that 12 year olds use. hahaha i've never tried sauve, sorry n.y.c. is good for lip products, and cheap liners/mascaras. you may have to re apply them because they fade but they are inexpensive which is nice. they're face products are pretty bad though. rimmel is really good! i use their liners/face products, definetely worth it i'm not really that big of a fan of sally hansen, its pretty much like natural makeup. i've only tried their lip products, and i wasn't impressed. Sorry that was so long, but i hope i helped! anymore questions just ask!
