Why do fashion models look like they'd rather be anywhere but on the runway?

Beautiful clothes but they look like they'd rather be a million miles away. Why aren't models more cheerful since they're wearing gorgeous clothes and fabulous jewelry? Wouldn't you rather see smiles than frowns? I'm scared of the model in the red dress. If looks could kill, that photographer would be toast. There's serious and then there's sour or dour. I would much rather see pleasant looks on their faces. They should be enjoying their work, enjoying the beautiful clothes that they get to wear. I guess it's just me. IMO, models (or anyone, for that matter) look so much more attractive when they smile or at least try to look pleasant rather than scowling and looking mad or deathly ill.

A: They are meant to be selling the clothes, not really themselves as such. they sell themselves with their walk, and style not their faces. if they smiled don't you think it would make it look less serious?
